SunStrong Management: Phone, Who It Services, $9.99 App Fee
SunStrong Management services about 500,000 leases and PPAs from Sunnova, legacy SunPower and part of PosiGen, and its SunStrong Connect app charges $9.99 a month for premium monitoring (SunStrong, 2025).
Sunnova accounts call 866-786-6682; SunPower lease accounts use sunstrong.youronlineaccount.com. It does not repair SunPower systems bought with cash or a loan.
SunStrong Management is the Austin, Texas asset manager that services the solar leases and power purchase agreements originally sold by SunPower, Sunnova and part of PosiGen, and that runs the SunStrong Connect monitoring app that replaced mySunPower.
What SunStrong Management is and whose accounts it holds
SunStrong Management was established in 2024 as an independent asset manager and took over servicing of legacy SunPower leases and PPAs after SunPower's August 5, 2024 Chapter 11. On September 4, 2025 trade press confirmed Solaris Assets (formed by GoodFinch Management) had completed the purchase of Sunnova's assets and moved core operations to SunStrong. In 2026 SunStrong also acquired the remaining PosiGen projects not taken by Renewbrook. SunStrong now claims about 6 GW and 500K+ customers under management, but it explicitly does not provide maintenance or repair for SunPower cash and loan customers.
| Original company | What SunStrong holds | What it does not hold |
|---|---|---|
| SunPower (legacy) | Leases and PPAs energized on or before September 30, 2024; the SunStrong Connect app | Cash and loan systems (no service); new SunPower Inc. installs |
| Sunnova | Most in-service lease, PPA and loan accounts, billing, and the Sunnova logins listed on SunStrong's account page | Accounts that did not transfer; unfinished installs (GoodLeap) |
| PosiGen | The projects Renewbrook did not take, from February 2026 | Most PosiGen leases (Renewbrook, serviced by Omnidian) |

Is it an emergency? Signs a SunStrong-serviced system needs help today
A SunStrong-serviced system with no installer behind it is an emergency only if it shows fire or electrical damage; a system that has simply stopped producing can wait for a normal service visit, and the 5 signs below sort one from the other.
- Smoke, flames, sparks, arcing or a burning smell at the panels, inverter, battery or wiring: get everyone away from it and call 911. Tell the operator the house has rooftop solar and show firefighters where the AC disconnect is, as Hawaiian Electric advises. Do not touch the equipment, and do not throw water on a burning battery.
- Panels cracked, torn loose or hanging after a storm, or wires exposed: stay off the roof and do not touch them. Hawaiian Electric says to assume solar panels are energized. If you can reach the AC disconnect or the system shutdown switch without going near the damage, turn it off. Tesla's inverter manual says turning off the AC disconnect starts rapid shutdown, which brings a Tesla array to safe voltage levels within 30 seconds.
- Water coming through the ceiling under the array: urgent within days, because a leak at a mount keeps getting worse. That is roof work; see roof leak under solar panels.
- The system shows zero but nothing is damaged: not an emergency. The house still has grid power; the cost is lost production every sunny day, so check the breaker and the inverter light, then call the repair line.
- A leased system: report the problem to SunStrong first and keep the date in writing; the lease makes the repair theirs.

Does SunStrong service SunPower systems that were bought with cash or a loan
No. SunStrong states on its SunPower support page that it does not provide maintenance or repair services for SunPower cash and loan customers, and it refers them to their original dealer, a local installer, or a third-party directory it publishes by state and disclaims. The lease obligation is the only service obligation SunStrong took on. Owners of cash and loan systems claim equipment warranties from Maxeon (panels), Enphase or Fronius (inverters) and Tesla or SunPower SunVault (batteries) directly, and hire a contractor for labor.
SunStrong Connect: the app that replaced mySunPower
SunStrong Connect (formerly mySunPower): free tier includes health alerts, live monitoring, SunVault and WiFi management; premium tier (historical data, panel-level monitoring, analytics, monthly reports) costs $9.99/month or $99.99/year since April 15, 2025, free for lease customers. Sunnova customers keep the Sunnova account portal.
Cellular gateways stopped being supported on April 15, 2025. A system that only ever connected through the installer's cellular modem went dark in the app on that date unless the gateway was moved to WiFi, Ethernet or powerline. That is a common reason a legacy SunPower owner sees no data, and it is a connection problem, not a production problem; the panels are still generating.
SunStrong reviews, complaints and lawsuits
The Better Business Bureau rates SunStrong Management LLC (Houston) a D+, with 1,282 complaints and a notice that the company "has failed to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints" (checked October 10, 2026). BBB customer reviews average 1.01 out of 5 across 239 reviews, with billing and sales-tax disputes, missed technician visits and unanswered calls as the recurring themes. On February 27, 2026, the Connecticut Attorney General sent SunStrong a civil investigative demand after about 65 complaints that it was failing to honor warranties, not answering complaints and charging $10 a month to see production data. A law firm, Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith, says it is investigating possible class action claims over warranties and fees; that is an investigation, not a filed lawsuit. Complaints about a lease go to your state attorney general's consumer office, listed in the state rules table.
