About

Editorial standards

Every date comes from a court docket, a claims agent, an SEC filing or two independent reports. Every price names the publisher and date, and the price index shows every publisher's figure side by side. The call lines are the only paid element on the site.

Errors reported to [email protected] are corrected within one business day and logged.

How facts are sourced

  • Bankruptcy dates, courts and case numbers come from court dockets and claims-agent pages (Kroll, Stretto, Epiq), SEC filings, or two independent news reports. A closure with no filing is listed only with the press report that confirms it, and the row says so.
  • Successor servicers and contacts come from the successor's own published pages or the trade press report of the transaction, never from forum posts or comment sections.
  • Cost ranges are quoted from the publisher that printed them, with the publication date. We do not average sources into a number nobody published. Where sources contradict each other, both are shown. Figures from a company that sells the product are labeled as such.
  • Warranty terms come from the manufacturer's current US warranty document, dated.
  • State rules come from the licensing board, the attorney general's office or the utility commission.

Roof, electrical or water damage? Call the line for the job; each goes to a local company that takes that work.

How the tracker is updated

A standing check watches federal bankruptcy filings, state attorney general releases and the main solar trade outlets for residential installer failures. A new entry is added within a week of confirmation. Every row is re-checked monthly, and the check date appears on the page. Changes to status, servicer or contact are logged below.

What we do not do

  • No legal advice. Lease disputes, lawsuits and loan questions are pointed to the state consumer office and a lawyer.
  • No author bylines on pages. The site speaks as a publisher, and the responsible editor is reachable at the contact address.
  • No sponsored content and no paid placement in the tracker, the cost tables or the warranty table. The call lines are the only paid element, and every page with a number says so.
  • No phone numbers or contacts from unofficial sources.

Corrections

A factual error reported to [email protected] is checked within one business day and corrected on the page with a note in the log below. A company listed on the tracker in error is removed and the removal is logged.
