About Home Repair Dispatch
Home Repair Dispatch is an independent home repair guide and call referral service run by James Callahan, CEO. We publish sourced 2026 costs for 70 repair jobs, run 25 call lines that route homeowners to independent companies that pay for the referral, and track failed solar installers.
Homeowners never pay us.
Home Repair Dispatch is an independent home repair guide and call referral service. It publishes sourced, dated repair costs for roofs, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work, water and fire damage, garage doors, pest control, foundations, trees, remodeling and rooftop solar, tracks failed solar installers, and connects homeowners by phone with local companies that take the job.
What we do
Three things. We publish what home repairs cost, from roofs, furnaces, air conditioners and plumbing to water and fire damage, garage doors, trees, remodels and solar, with the source and date for every number. We run a call line for each kind of job, so a homeowner who has read the page can reach a company that takes that job. And we keep a dated, sourced tracker of residential solar installers that have failed, with the court, the successor servicer and the warranty status for each.
Roof, electrical or water damage? Call the line for the job; each goes to a local company that takes that work.
Who pays
The companies that receive calls pay for the referral, through a pay-per-call network. Homeowners pay nothing to us. No company pays to appear on the tracker or the cost tables. Companies that buy calls choose their own areas and job types through the network, and one may be a company named on this site; that does not change what the tracker or the tables say about it.
Why the name
The name says what happens. Something on the house needs repair, from a roof leak or water damage to a dead panel or a solar system the installer left behind, and the site dispatches the call to the right trade. A stain on the ceiling could need a roofer, a plumber or a drying crew; a dead circuit could be a breaker or the panel. Most homeowners should not have to know which trade to call before they pick up the phone.

Who is behind it
Home Repair Dispatch is an independent US publisher founded in 2026 and run by James Callahan, CEO. It exists to answer the question homeowners most often get wrong, which trade to call, and to put a sourced price next to every job before anyone picks up the phone. Reader questions and corrections sent to the inbox decide which guides get written and updated next.
Press, data and partnership inquiries go to [email protected]. Reporters may quote any cost table on the site with a link to the page. We answer every email within one business day.
How we work
- Every number on the site names its source and date. The editorial standards page explains how facts are sourced, how the tracker is updated and how corrections are handled.
- The how calls work page explains where calls go, what we check and what we do not.
- No page gives legal advice. A question about a lease dispute, a lawsuit or a loan is pointed to the state consumer office and a lawyer.
Roof, electrical, water damage or solar. One call.
Say what you see and where. The company that answers will ask about the job and quote its visit fee before anything is booked. Free call to an independent company in your area that takes this kind of work.
