The Freedom Forever bankruptcy is the April 15, 2026 Chapter 11 filing of Freedom Forever LLC, the second-largest US residential solar installer, in the District of Delaware, converted to a Chapter 7 liquidation on August 7, 2026, with a proof-of-claim deadline of October 16, 2026.
Claim deadline: October 16, 2026. Customers owed a deposit, unfinished work, roof damage or warranty repairs must file Official Form 410 through Kroll by that date. The claim deadline page walks through the form.
What happened to Freedom Forever
Temecula, California-based Freedom Forever, the second-largest US residential installer in 2025 with nearly 2 GW installed across 32-35 states, filed Chapter 11 in Delaware on April 15, 2026 (Case No. 26-10522, Judge Brendan L. Shannon) listing $500 million to $1 billion of liabilities, about nine business days after the Texas Attorney General named it in a solar fraud initiative. Roughly 1,600 workers were laid off around the petition date. A sale effort failed, the company sought conversion on August 3, 2026, and the court converted the case to Chapter 7 on August 7, 2026, appointing Alfred T. Giuliano trustee. The court let seven finance partners (Credit Human, EnFin, EverBright, GoodLeap, Participate, Project Solar, Sunrun) hire new contractors to finish stranded installations. The proof-of-claim deadline is October 16, 2026.

Freedom Forever customer service: there is none
Freedom Forever has no customer service line, no service department and no successor servicer. The company is being liquidated by a Chapter 7 trustee, whose job is to sell assets and pay creditors, not to answer calls. The contacts that exist are the claims agent, the court, and the seven finance partners the court authorized to finish stranded installations.

Is it an emergency? Signs a Freedom Forever system needs help today
A Freedom Forever system with no installer behind it is an emergency only if it shows fire or electrical damage; a system that has simply stopped producing can wait for a normal service visit, and the 5 signs below sort one from the other.
- Smoke, flames, sparks, arcing or a burning smell at the panels, inverter, battery or wiring: get everyone away from it and call 911. Tell the operator the house has rooftop solar and show firefighters where the AC disconnect is, as Hawaiian Electric advises. Do not touch the equipment, and do not throw water on a burning battery.
- Panels cracked, torn loose or hanging after a storm, or wires exposed: stay off the roof and do not touch them. Hawaiian Electric says to assume solar panels are energized. If you can reach the AC disconnect or the system shutdown switch without going near the damage, turn it off. Tesla's inverter manual says turning off the AC disconnect starts rapid shutdown, which brings a Tesla array to safe voltage levels within 30 seconds.
- Water coming through the ceiling under the array: urgent within days, because a leak at a mount keeps getting worse. That is roof work; see roof leak under solar panels.
- The system shows zero but nothing is damaged: not an emergency. The house still has grid power; the cost is lost production every sunny day, so check the breaker and the inverter light, then call the repair line.
- A claim for money Freedom Forever owes you: the proof of claim deadline is October 16, 2026; see the Freedom Forever claim deadline.
Published contacts as of the check date. Hours are not published by most successors.

Freedom Forever warranty: what is void and what survives
Freedom Forever's 25-year workmanship warranty and production guarantee are unsecured claims in a liquidation; no successor assumed them. Equipment warranties from Enphase, SolarEdge, Tesla, Qcells and others are separate and still apply.
Who services Freedom Forever systems now
Nobody for completed cash/loan systems. Unfinished installs: the financier that funded the job (GoodLeap, EnFin, EverBright, Credit Human, Participate, Project Solar or Sunrun) may hire a new contractor. Sunrun and other lessors own and must service leased/PPA systems.
Freedom Forever lawsuits, complaints and the Texas attorney general
The Texas Attorney General named Freedom Forever in a solar fraud initiative about nine business days before the bankruptcy petition, and SolarEdge and GoodLeap appear in the case as secured creditor and financier respectively. Customers with sales-practice complaints can still file with their state attorney general, listed in the state rules table, but money claims against the company itself go only through the bankruptcy. Whether a lender must forgive a loan for a system that was never finished is a question for a lawyer or the state consumer office, and the answer varies by lender and state.
