Solar Panel Repair Phoenix: $100 to $500 Visit + APS, SRP
Solar panel repair in Phoenix costs $220 to $1,050 in Angi's 2026 range for Phoenix, against $238 to $1,487 nationally.
An owned system needs an Arizona ROC-licensed solar or electrical contractor, usually after a diagnostic visit of $100 to $300 (GreenLancer, 2026); a leased system is repaired by its servicer. Two major orphaned-solar closures happened here: Titan Solar Power of Chandler (closed June 2024, 5,001 to 10,000 creditors) and Erus Energy of Phoenix (17,000+ customers, closed November 2023). APS customers keep the export rate in place when they applied; SRP resets its rate every year. Phoenix's fast-track solar permit excludes homes that already have solar, so repairs, reinstalls and batteries go through regular review, and Phoenix Fire requires a separate permit for batteries.

Who services solar in Phoenix when the installer is gone
In Phoenix, the contractor for an owned system is an Arizona ROC-licensed solar or electrical contractor; the call lines on this page reach companies that take over systems whose installer closed. Titan Solar Power, headquartered in Chandler, stopped operating on June 13, 2024 and filed Chapter 7 a week later, leaving thousands of Arizona customers struggling to get repairs (ABC15). EnergyAid bought Titan's monitoring network and offers Titan owners a service plan; the Titan page has the details. Erus Energy, a Phoenix installer founded in 2004 with more than 17,000 customers in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, shut down on November 3, 2023. For owned systems, any Arizona ROC-licensed solar or electrical contractor can take over; for leases, call the servicer on your statement.
APS and SRP: what changes when you repair, reinstall or add a battery
APS cut its solar export rate 10% to 5.554 cents per kWh on September 1, 2026; existing customers keep the rate in effect when they submitted their interconnection request. Existing customers keep that rate for 10 years from their application date. We found no APS rule on whether a removal and reinstall resets the lock, so ask APS before the work. APS Storage Rewards pays a $110 per average kW bill credit each May-to-October season for letting APS draw on a connected battery (Enphase, FranklinWH, SolarEdge, Tesla and others).
SRP is not regulated by the Arizona Corporation Commission and resets its export price every year (3.45 cents per kWh for 2025; check the current figure). SRP Battery Partner pays $55 per average kW twice a year, capped at 5,000 customers through April 2030.
Permits in Phoenix for solar repair, reinstall and batteries
The City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department accepts SolarAPP+ for new rooftop solar, but the fast track is not available for battery storage, homes with existing solar or batteries, panel upgrades, historic districts or flood zones. That means repairs, removal and reinstall, and battery add-ons go through regular plan review. The Phoenix Fire Department requires a separate permit for solar with battery storage. Tempe also uses SolarAPP+; check with Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and Scottsdale directly.
Phoenix heat and your solar system
Phoenix set a record of 70 days at 110°F or above in 2024, with 113 days in a row at 100°F or more; 2025 had 122 days at 100°F and 37 at 110°F (National Weather Service). Inverters protect themselves by cutting output in that heat, so an inverter in direct afternoon sun on a west wall can lose production every summer day; shade and clearance help. Monsoon dust is the other hazard: the August 25, 2025 haboob brought 70 mph gusts and cut power to more than 60,000 customers, mostly in Maricopa County. Hose dust off from the ground after a storm if production drops.
Where to complain or recover money in Phoenix
The Arizona Registrar of Contractors takes complaints and runs a Residential Contractors' Recovery Fund that pays up to $30,000 per claimant per residence ($200,000 per license) after an ROC finding or court order, for an owner-occupied home. The Arizona Attorney General takes consumer complaints online or at (602) 542-5763 in Phoenix.

Roofers, electricians and water damage repair in Phoenix
The same call lines serve Phoenix houses with or without solar. Roof: An Arizona roofer needs a Registrar of Contractors license in the R-42 residential roofing class (or CR-42) when the job tops $1,000 or needs a permit. Nationally, Angi puts the average roof repair at $1,174, with most homeowners paying $395 to $1,968; the roof repair guide breaks it down by job. About 90% of Arizona's flat roofs are spray foam, per Rosie on the House, which says foam needs a fresh elastomeric coat every 5 to 10 years (other guides say up to 15); see flat roof repair and roof coating. On tile roofs the tile outlasts the underlayment, which roof consultant Carl A. Brown puts at roughly 15 to 20 years in desert heat; see tile roof repair.
Electrical: Electrical work in Arizona needs a Registrar of Contractors R-11 (or CR-11) license on the company. The electrical repair guide has hourly rates and common repair prices, and breaker keeps tripping covers the most common call.
Water damage: the EPA says wet materials dried within 24 to 48 hours usually do not grow mold, so call quickly, photograph everything and call your insurer as well. The water damage guide covers the first 48 hours.

Questions people ask
Who repairs Titan Solar systems in Phoenix?
Titan closed in June 2024. EnergyAid offers Titan owners a service plan; any Arizona ROC-licensed solar or electrical contractor can work on an owned system.
Can I use SolarAPP+ in Phoenix to add a battery?
No. Phoenix's SolarAPP+ path excludes battery storage and homes that already have solar, and the Phoenix Fire Department requires a separate permit for solar with batteries.
Will APS change my export rate if I reinstall my panels?
APS locks the export rate in effect when you applied for 10 years, but we found no published APS rule on removal and reinstall. Ask APS before the work.
What does solar panel removal and reinstall in Phoenix cost?
No Phoenix-specific price is published; the national range is $200 to $300 per panel (Fixr, 2025), and the permit goes through regular City of Phoenix review because homes with existing solar are excluded from the fast track. Get a written per-panel quote.
Why does my Phoenix solar produce less in summer afternoons?
Inverters cut output in extreme heat to protect themselves. An inverter in direct sun or without enough clearance derates more. Shade it and keep the space around it clear.
Not sure what the system needs? Call the solar repair line and describe what the app or inverter shows; roof work goes to the roof line.
